Current Research

The Martin Lab has extensive experience in the mechanisms of RNA polymerase, in particular, in the model system T7 RNA polymerase (see the "About T7 RNA polymerase" section here). Over the past 30 years, this enzyme has also been widely used to synthesize RNA in vitro and its use has only increased as we learn more and more about the RNA world!

We are now turning our wealth of experience towards understanding better the applications of T7 RNA polymerase and towards developing better ways to make RNA with this system.
